We are looking for a Director of Operations to organize and oversee the daily operations of our fast paced, high growth software company. They will execute the business strategy into the day-to-day operations providing direction to various teams within the organization. Being able to drive efficiency, key priorities and identify and remove barriers for the team will be critical for their success. They will work with different departments to create a result driven environment, develop key metrics and ensure that different teams are accountable for delivering success. The Director of Operations will enhance customer satisfaction by being their champion within Volante. They will collaborate and communicate across the organization allowing for “one voice”, core work process delivery, and best practice implementation.

Duties

The Director of Operations will assume a leadership position within the company to:

  • Deliver world class Project Management, Deployment and Technical Support results
  • Become a technical liaison for internal and external stakeholders
  • Ensure effective engagement and execution of initiatives
  • Oversee the escalation process for client in Canada and the US
  • Deliver outstanding customer experiences from the start and implementation to ongoing management of projects
  • Flawlessly execute on the current and forecasted customer contracts
    • ensure schedules and milestones are adhered to
    • ensure appropriate capability to support customers
    • early identification of issues and risk
    • development and implementation of sound strategies to solve or mitigate issues and risks
  • Work with Product Managers to meet customer requirements and continuously improve the product offering
  • Resource the teams to ensure support for the Company’s continued fast paced growth
  • Effectively manage budgets for departments

Mandatory Skills/Experience

  • A minimum of  ten years of experience in the software industry with experience in business management, planning, and financial oversight and having a technical background
  • Has been instrumental in growing a company from approximately $10mm to over $50mm
  • Proven track record managing and achieving excellence in:
    • Project Management complex Hardware and Software contracts
    • Deployments of hardware and software systems
    • Supply-Chain of hardware, and support management
  • Is a proven leader who is able to motivate and bring out the best in the team
  • Excellent interpersonal and project management skills
  • Ability and willingness to roll-up their sleeves
  • Ambitious and results driven.
  • Worked in a software & hardware technology environment. POS industry preferred.
  • Experience in manufacturing, process improvement and quality control
  • Is a creative problem solver
  • Has strong financial acumen

  • Reports to the President
  • Direct Reports: Heads of Project Management, Deployments, Hardware, Shipments, and Technical Support
